Day 25

Woah! Last blog post!

Getting proposed to, yet again, was the perfect way to end our last day in the Jungle. Too bad he just wanted a green card. haha.

To keep it short and keep you amused, our big takeaway was that the refugee crisis is just sucky. yup. there’s no other way to put it.

Selfishness, greed, and apathy are the biggest issues in our world, and until we address those problems, change isn’t going to happen.

All people want is a normal life: to be with their family, have a job, practice their faith, & be happy.

We’ve heard incredible stories that we can’t wait to share with y’all in our upcoming short film. We’ll be posting it on our social media & online.

Trying to understand the refugee crisis in a month has been a pretty life-altering experience. But, we get to go home, and it’s unfair that the refugees can’t. We’ve never been treated with so much kindness and love by people who have not been shown any.

Thank you to Howard G. Buffett for the opportunity to share these stories with the world. Thanks to our families and friends for your constant encouragement & prayers. They were definitely needed.

off to edit our film!

all our love,

em&and, over&out.

Thank you so much for posting your journey! I am an aspiring anthropology and international studies double major, and you guys are living my dream! I admire your courage, enthusiasm, and wording, that made these twenty-five day updates such an interesting and powerful adventure. I pray that this website and documentary inspires others to vie for global human rights just as it has inspired me. (:

    With Love,

    Rayne
